Elizabeth H. Brooks

Elizabeth Hatcher Brooks, a retired portrait artist, died Sunday at her Pacific Grove home after a long illness.
Mrs. Brooks retired in Pacific Grove in 1973 after a career as an artist. She worked for a time as a portrait artist at the Arizona Biltmore Hotel in Phoenix, Ariz.
She was born in Louisville, Ky., on Nov. 4, 1909.
A fine arts graduate of Ohio State University, Mrs. Brooks was involved through her husband's work with the Society of Motion Picture Art Directors, Producers and Directors in Los Angeles before moving to the Monterrey Peninsula area.
She was a member of the Pacific Grove Women's Golf Club.
She is survived by her husband, Rolland; a daughter, Elizabeth of Danville; a brother, John Hatcher of Aiken, S.C.; and a grandson.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at El Carmelo Cemetery. The Paul Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
