Retired Salesman Dies in Hospital


James Bolton Garlow, 72, of 553 North Fountain, died at Wichita hospital Thursday night. He was a retired salesman for Fairbanks-Morse Co., retiring in January of 1952.


Mr. Garlow was born Jan. 16, 1881 in Cloud county, Kan. He had been a resident of Wichita for 10 years. He was a member of the First Babtist church, belonged to Masonic lodge No. 45, and was active in the work of the Gideons.


Survivors include his wife, Velora E., of the home address; three daughters, Mrs. Blanche L. Small, of Halstead; Mrs. Ruth J. Leas, of Hays; Mrs. Mildred K. Van Effen, of Eureka, Calif.; a son, First Lieut. Maurice B. Garlow, now serving in Japan; a sister, Mrs. Mable Patterson, of Shawnee, Okla., and a brother, D. D. Garlow, of Compton, Calif. Six grandchildren also survive.


Funeral service arrangements will be announced by Downing mortuary.
