GASTONIA- Charlotte Harbin Kale, 93, 122 Burton Hills, died June 28, 2001, at home.

She was a native of Haywood County, daughter of the late James David Harbin and Hester Ann Clark, retired from Burlington Industries, RCG Love Plant, after 20 years of service, oldest member of Faith United Methodist Church, joined at age 14, social chairman, last president of United Methodist Women in 1949 when church was East End Methodist Church, received mission recognition pin in 1963, active in all church activities for many years.

SURVIVORS: Daughters, Jeanette Hyleman, Gastonia, Mabel Pearson, Belmont; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren

PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: Sisters, Della Bean, Ila and Mattie Harbin, Etta Faye Helton; brothers, Cumie, Lee Roy, Carol and Garland Harbin

FUNERAL: 3 p.m. Sunday, Faith United Methodist Church, Revs. George Burton, Joe McCombs, Dan Stowe

BURIAL: Gaston Memorial Park
