William H Anthony enlisted into the Confederate States Army Oct. 1, 1861 as a Private and mustered "H" Co. GA 26th Infantry. He died of disease on 7/29/1862 at Staunton, VA.

On Nov. 7, 2009 a CSA Military Marker for William Anthony was dedicated at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Nov 2009. It is placed in between his parents.
