John Wesley Bedell passed away on a Tuesday night in the home of his daughter, Mrs. J R Wood, at 111 Broadway, Freeport, NY. This was a result of a third paralyzing stroke, the first a little over a year ago and a second a few months ago. We was an 82 year old retired farmer. He survives his wife, Hannah, by about four months, his son Charles Wesley Bedell and daughter Susan A Bedell.
John was a faithful member of the Freeport Methodist Episcopal Church until his health failed. He is survived by two sons, Henry & Dr. Warren Bedell and two daughters, Mrs. J R Wood and Mrs. William E Golder.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Wood home with the Rev. W A Richard of the Freeport M.E. Church officiating and assisted by the Rev. Charles Herbert Scholey of the Presbyterian Church. Interment was Mar. 4, 1910 in the Greenfield Cemetery.
