Miss Eliza Ellen Kirk married George W. Black on 15 September 1872.

George and Eliza Black and one child moved to Young County in 1876. The young couple settled at Tonk Valley and organized the Tonk Valley Baptist Church, where they were charter members

Mrs. Eliza Ellen Black died at her home of pneumonia. She professed religion in 1870 and joined the Baptist Church at Springdale, Arkansas.

Survived by her husband; six children - three sons and three daughters; three sisters.
