Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 13, 2010, at 1:30 PM in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille in Lafayette, Louisiana, for LeRoy Joseph Broussard, Sr., 85, who passed away peacefully on Friday, March 12, 2010 at Regional Medical Center of Acadiana in Lafayette.

Another service will be held at Grammier Oberle Funeral Home in Groves, Texas with interment afterwards at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Port Arthur, Texas on Tuesday, March 16, 2010.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Vesta Benoit Broussard; one son, LeRoy Joseph Broussard, Jr. and his wife Patricia; two step daughters, Suzanne Revere and her husband Mike and Saralyn Carpenter and her husband Robert; two grandchildren, Stardust Broussard and Corey Broussard; one sister, Mildred Benoit; and two brothers, Norris Broussard and Chester Broussard and his wife Mary.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Broussard; parents, Lauve and Marie Breaux Broussard; one sister, Helen Hossley; and two brothers, Lauve Paul Broussard and Weston Broussard.

A lifelong resident of Lafayette, LeRoy Broussard, Sr. proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force and was a past member of the Knights of Columbus. He was an excellent carpenter and a master of all trades. He firmly believed in trust and expressed his wishes for others to believe in it as well. Mr. Broussard was a loving husband, father, step father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Robert Carpenter, Mike Revere, Shawn Revere, Kristie Carpenter and Stardust Broussard.

LeRoy Joseph Broussard, Sr. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2010, at 1:30 PM in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille in Lafayette, for LeRoy Joseph Broussard, Sr, 85, who passed away peacefully on Friday, March 12, 2010 at Regional Medical Center of Acadiana in Lafayette Following services at Martin & Castille Funeral Home, there will be another service held at Grammier Oberle Funeral Home in Groves, Texas with interment afterwards at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Port Arthur, Texas on Tuesday, March 16, 2010.
Reverend Louis Richard, Pastor of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Broussard, will conduct the funeral services. Jodi Bollich, organist and soloist, will sing "How Great Thou Art", "Amazing Grace", "Be Not Afraid" and "The Old Rugged Cross" for the services. Following the service, Eddie Baker will play "Taps".
Survivors include his beloved wife, Vesta Benoit Broussard; one son, LeRoy Joseph Broussard, Jr. and his wife Patricia; two step daughters, Suzanne Revere and her husband Mike and Saralyn Carpenter and her husband Robert; two grandchildren, Stardust Broussard and Corey Broussard; one sister, Mildred Benoit; and two brothers, Norris Broussard and Chester Broussard and his wife Mary.
