THE PARIS NEWS, 2 Apr 1939. ‘Mrs. Katherine Hudson Landers, wife of Ed A. Landers of 154 South Thirty-Second Street, died at 4:30 o’clock afternoon at St. Joseph’s Hospital. The funeral was set for 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon at Ramseur Baptist Church conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Forrest E. Johnson, and the Rev. Homer T. Fort of First Methodist Church. Burial will be made at Evergreen Cemetery, pallbearers to be Carl DeWeese, Grady Cearley, Wylie Warren, Byron Denny, Paul and Jesse Thrasher. Brown-Roden Funeral Home has charge. The body will be at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Hudson, 447 Margaret Street, until the funeral hour. She was 22 years old and reared in Paris, and after graduation from Paris High School, in 1934, attended Paris Junior College. She was married 8 Nov 1936. Surviving are her husband and parents, a small daughter, Phyllis Jean and an infant son, Joe Edwin, born Thursday at St. Joseph’s Hospital, besides two brothers, Gene and Joe Hudson.’
From the records of Kenneth P. Hudson, Rt. 3, Box 227B, Madison, Al., 35758; ‘Born in Paris, attended schools in Paris. She was a substitute teacher in Paris. She was a very good cook and a fine person. Married Edwin Arcy Landers, son of Allison T. and Martha Orr Landers. Their children were Phyllis Jean (b. Jul 18, 1937 in Paris) who married Bobby Lee Painter on Aug. 17, 1967 in Hugo, OK., and Joe Edwin Landers (b. Mar 30, 1939 in Paris) who married Patsy Ruth Watson on June 29, 1970 in Dallas, TX.’
Buried near Lowe E. Butler. Tombstone is inscribed, ‘Wife of Edwin A. Landers.’
