William David was son of Daniel R. Goldsmith and Elvaire Me..thern. Elvaire is probably Elvira and I couldn't read her surname as a few of the letters had been written over.
William David was recorded as a widow. The name of the town where he was born was listed, but I couldn't read it. It started with a /B/ and ended with /ing/, but I don't think it was Birmingham. The letters weren't in the right position for the name to be Birmingham. However, anyone descending William will probably be able to figure out the name of the town with the clues on the death certificate. Wish I could help more.
