She was born July 10, 1913, in Alexandria, Pa., to Mary (Stark) & Lowen Douds.
Helen was a member of Park Methodist Church in Madison for over 60 years. She loved working outside, tending to her beautiful flower beds on the family farm in Madison.
Survivors are her two daughters, Corinne Dye of Madison and Linda Love of Greenville, S.C.; son, David Carr of Greenville, S.C.; three grandsons, Brian (Sybille) Love of Manassas, Va., James Dye of Middletown, Del., and Paul (Catherine) Dye of Madison; and two great-grandsons, Charles and Joshua.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clifford Carr, whom she married Nov. 23, 1936, in Pittsburgh, Pa.; two brothers, Harold and Raymond Douds; sisters, Grace Garlitz and Edna Emanuel; and sister-in-law, Martha Douds.
Friends will be received from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, 2009, at The Behm Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, 26 River St., Madison. A funeral service will follow at 7:30 p.m. Pastor Aletta Burkholder of Park United Methodist Church of Madison will officiate. Final resting place will be Island Creek Cemetery in Jefferson County.
