Lou was born April 26, 1923, in Alvord to T.J. and Nellie Putman and was the youngest of six children. She graduated from Alvord High School and later moved to Fort Worth, where she met Wilbur Pound in February 1944. Married less than two months later, Lou and Wilbur went on to enjoy a friendship and marriage of more than 65 years marked by a singular devotion to each other and to their three sons, Wayne, Kent and Barry. Lou was a longtime faithful member of River Oaks Baptist Church, where over the years she served as a nursery worker and teacher of many young people. She was lovingly known as "Mama Lou," and all who knew her will miss her greatly.
Lou was preceded in death by her parents and five siblings.
Survivors: Husband, Wilbur; sons, Wayne Pound and wife, Becky, of Fort Worth, Kent Pound and wife, Barbara, of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Barry Pound and wife, Lucie, of Dallas; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
