OBITUARY

Mrs. Louisa Martin, wife of Franklin Martin, deceased, was born in the town of Peachum, Vermont, May 23, 1808, departed this life at her home in Tippecanoe Townshp, Marshall Co., Ind., April 3, 1890, aged 81 years, 10 months and 11 days. Her parents moved from the State of Vermont to Ohio in 1815; was married to Franklin Martin, Jan. 8, 1829, moved to Marshall county, Ind., in 1849. The country being new, they passed through the hardships of a pioneer life, and by had work and economy, succeeded in procuring a sufficient amount of things of this world to make them comfortable. There were born to them ten children, of whom nine are still living. Her husband died four years ago last Sept. She was a kind mother, and affectionate wife, a good neighbor, respected and loved by all who knew her, which was indicated largely by the unusually large congregation which attended on the occasion of her funeral services, which were held in the Bethel M. E. church of the 4th of April, at 3 p. m., conducted by Elder H. A. Snepp, after which she was laid away by the side of her husband, to await the general resurrection. Henry A. Snepp.
