David Jacob Yepma, age 70, of Clearbrook, died unexpectedly on Saturday, June 25, 2005 at his residence.
A private memorial service for close family and friends will be held on Sunday, July 3 at 2 p.m.at David and Tammy Raiter's residence in Shevlin. Jeremy Davids will be officiating. Interment will be at the Dudley Township Cemetery at Leonard. Military rites will be accorded by the Melvin Johnson American Legion Post #256 of Clearbrook.
He was born February 23, 1935 at Rutledge, Minnesota, the son of Jacob and Dorothy (Bohlen) Yepma. He grew up and attended school in Rutledge until joining the United States Air Force on April 4, 1952. He served our country until he was honorably discharged on January 18, 1961. He married Darlyne Stenlund in 1963 and two children were born to this union. He worked as a heavy equipment operator.
David enjoyed hunting , fishing and riding motorcycle before his disability in 1971. He lived in Gulfport, Florida for many years with his special friend Mary. After her death he moved to the Leonard area to be near his children.
He is survived by his children, one son, Brian (Robin) Yepma of Becker, Minnesota and one daughter, Tamara Jo (David) Raiter of Shevlin; one grandson; three sisters, Betty (Ole) Johnson of Superior, Wisconsin, Jackie Nyquist of Duluth, Minnesota, and Dotty Yepma of Florida; one brother, Sam of Maple, Wisconsin, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister Sybil.
