BELLEVIEW — Joseph Damien Marques, 85, died Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010.
Mr. Marques was born in Centralia, PA, and moved to Belleview from Shamokin, PA, in 1987.
He was a member of St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Belleview, and was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce K.; daughter, Carol Ann Heydt, Franklin, NH; son, Thomas A., Walnutport, PA; stepdaughters Darlene Hancock, Lecanto, Bettina Riccio, New York City; stepsons Franklin Van Why, Phillipsburg, NJ, Matthew Van Why, Bangor, PA; sister, Delores A. Zyla, Shamokin, PA; half-sister, Mary Behler, Lake Placid, FL; half-brother, Pete Santos, Georgia; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 25, at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, Belleview, with Monsignor James Lichtenthal officiating.
Inurnment with military honors will follow at Florida National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Marion County, Estelle's House, P.O. Box 4860, Ocala, FL 34478.
