On the morning of July 6, 2000, as the sun rose, Gary Keith Powell walked into the arms of his Loving Heavenly Father. Gary's battle with cancer was finally complete.
Born Sept. 28, 1950, to George Keith and Thelma (Jones) Powell, Glendale, CA. Gary lived most of his life in Salt Lake City, UT and grad-uated from Granite High in 1969. He attended the U of U. Managed Reams stores for 25 years. Married Judy Ellison January 26, 1999. In 1991 Gary was a co-founder of Re/Max Associates. Gary will long be remembered for his love of Lake Powell and many trips with friends and loved ones. Gary's life was fulfilled with the laughter of family, friends, and grandchildren.
Survived by his wife, Judy; parents, Keith and Thelma; sisters, Judy K. Powell, Brenda Powell, Cindy (Tom) Kerr; brother, Richard Powell; four loving children and their spouses, Ricardo Lopez III, Mark Anthony and Stacey Lopez, Dena and Dr. Sean Lucas, Kimberly and Tim Nell; and grandpa to nine grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, July 11, 2000 at 11 a.m. in the Memorial Mortuary Chapel, 5850 S. 900 E. where friends may call Monday from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services Tuesday. Interment, Elysian Burial Gardens, 1075 E. 4580 S.
