Mrs Mamie C. Allen

Mrs Mamie Cleo Allen, 49, wife of Jack H Allen, died Wednesday afternoon at her home, 921 South Cypress Street, following a heart attack. She had been in declining health for the past four months.

A native of Louisiana, she was born at Yellow Pine in 1900, daughter of Robert L and Sarah Jane (Nichols) Ferguson. When quite young, with her parents, she came to Arkansas and made her home in Jefferson County, where she received her education, graduating from Watson Chapel High School in the class of 1918.

Mrs Allen was an employee of the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for several years prior to her marriage. She was first married in 1921 to B J Mann, who died in 1929. Several years later, she was married to Jack H Allen, a resident of Florida. Mrs Allen was a member of the Eastside Christian Church of this city.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs M L Baltzell and Miss Beulah Maxine Allen of Pine Bluff; two sons, Aaron B Mann and John B Mann of Pine Bluff; five sisters, Mrs J W Mayhugh, Mrs H W Spears of Pine Bluff; Mrs S T. Chamblee of Mt Vernon, Ark; Mrs J B Haralson of Vallejo, Calif, and Mrs Samuel J Harris of Haskell, Ark; three brothers, Walter L Ferguson of Pine Bluff; H Lloyd Ferguson of Shreveport, La, and Robert L Ferguson of Stockton, Calif.; two grandchildren, Nathan Bennett Baltzell and Linda Maxine Baltzell of Pine Bluff.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Ralph Robinson and Son Mortuary pending the arrival of relatives.

Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the Ralph Robinson and Son Mortuary chapel, in charge of Rev F S Dowdy, pastor of East Side Christian Church. Internment will be in Union Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be: R L Harris, James Favors, Ellis Guynn, Carter Nichols, Sam Harris, and Bruce Johnson.

Mrs Allen leaves two daughters, Mr M L Baltzell and Miss Beulah Maxine Allen, Pine Bluff; two sons, Aaron B Mann and John B Mann of Pine Bluff; five sisters, Mrs J W Mayhugh and Mrs H W Spears of Pine Bluff; Mrs S T Chamblee of Mt Vernon, Ark; Mrs J B Haralson of Vallejo, Calif, and Mrs Samuel J Harris of Haskell, Ark; three brothers, Walter L Ferguson of Pine Bluff; H Lloyd Ferguson of Shreveport, La, and Robert L Ferguson of Stockton, Calif.

The remains of Mrs. Allen are in the parlor of Ralph Robinson and Son Mortuary.

Burial was in Union Cemetery.

Pallbearers were: R L Harris, James Favors, Ellis Gwynn, Carter Nichols, Sam Harris, Bruce Johnson, Raymond Davis and Nick Fakouri.
