She was the daughter of the late Baxter and Stella Spencer Huskey. She attended school at West End Elementary and Gaffney High School. She received a business degree from Spartanburg Business School. She was employed by Bankers Trust of North for 10 years and Aiken Electric Cooperative from 1979 until her retirement in 1998. She was 72.
Survivors include her husband, James L. "Crick" Bridges; a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Ben Spearman; and two grandchildren, Barrett and Alissa Spearman. She was predeceased by her son, Eddie Bridges.
