Homer F. Brooks was born August 13, 1905 in Fort Worth, Texas, and moved as a child to Jacksonville, Tex., where he was reared and educated. He later attended school in Tulsa, Okl. He moved from Fayetteville, Ark., to Caldwell in 1928. He was married April 22, 1939, in Gooding, Id., to Opal Hunter, and since have lived in Caldwell. He was a car salesman for Wilson Motors, and during World War II worked in the shipyards at Portland. He started Brooks Used Cars in 1944 and continued operation of the business until ill health forced his retirement three years ago. He was a member of the Canyon County Sheriff's Posse, the Lower Snake River Valley Quarter Horse Association and the American Quarter Horse Association.

Surviving in addition to Mrs.Brooks are three brothers, Elmer and Louis (Wint) both of Caldwell, Ira Brooks of Santa Ceuz, Calif. three sisters, Mrs. Bertha Kinsey of Caldwell, and Mrs Nellie Horn and Mrs Dorthy Lloyd both of Boise.
