Farmer Pieter Alberda married on 11 May 1882 in Bedum in the province Groningen to the also 20 years aged Cornelia Klugkist. From March 1883 until April 1889 they had four children in Bedum: Harmannus, Willem Menze, Pieterke and Hendrik Alberda. Harmannus died in September 1889 in Bedum at the age of six years.

In 1910 Peter Alberda lived with his wife Cornelia and their children Lizzie and Henry in Schooldistrict 34 of Gallatin County. In 1920 Peter and Cornelia lived in Gallatin County too, in 1930 in the Dutch settlement of Holland, later on called Amsterdam.
