A native of Spartanburg County; daughter of Walter Jefferson Harris (1914–1971) and Hattie Louella Hollifield Harris (1920–2002); wife of Ronald Adams.

Also survived by a son, Richard Allen Gay; brothers, Gerald Roland Harris (1941–2022) and Danny Walter Harris (1950–2015); and sister, Brenda H. Allison.
