Sirena Isabel Young was the daughter of Robert Jason Young and Elizabeth Ann White (Mayfield). She was first married to Tom Chappell in Arkansas about 1881-82. There were several children by this marriage but only two survived, a daughter, Margreta "Maggie" Chappell and a son, Harvey Chappell. After Tom Chappell died she met Ernest Clinton Wilcox who was originally from the Illinois/Ohio area. Ernest was the son of George Daniel Wilcox and Lenora Raymond. Ernest & Sirena married on Oct. 10, 1894 in Newport, Jackson Co., Arkansas. Shortly after that they moved southward to Columbia County, Arkansas, and finally settled into Bossier parish, Louisiana. Sirena's son Harvey Chappell left home shortly after his mother's marriage to Ernest C. Wilcox and was never heard from again. Maggie Chappell was raised to adulthood and married Henry Kimbrell. While still living in Arkansas, Ernest & Sirena Wilcox had several more children of their own who all grew to adulthood in Louisiana. Sirena Wilcox was described to have been a very quiet, gentle & caring woman.
