Services for Mrs. Lillie Mae Thompson Ashmore will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 27, 2007, at Freedom Baptist Church, Freedom Road, Pitkin, Louisiana with Reverend Jeff James and Reverend Wayne Howell officiating. Burial will be in Occupy #1 Cemetery, Pitkin, Louisiana.

Mrs. Ashmore, 95, of Tioga, died Thursday, March 22, 2007, in Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria, Louisiana.

She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Tioga. Mrs. Ashmore was retired as a cook at Pinecrest State School. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Mrs. Ashmore was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Spencer "Bud" Ashmore, Sr.; parents, Eliza Doyle Thompson and James Wade Thompson; two daughters, Mildred A. Smith and Sharon Lynn A. Bookout; five sons-in-law, Essix Smith, Henry Lee Smith, Sr., Doyle Gene Ryan, Sr. Harold E. Von Dran, Sr., and Clyde Calvin Bookout, Jr.; one daughter-in-law, Rosie Ashmore; three grandchildren, Robert Gerald Ashmore, Anita A. Ward and Brenda Gail Ashmore; seven brothers and four sisters.

Those left to cherish her memory include her five sons, Spencer "Buddy Ashmore, Jr. and wife Lonie of Pitkin, LA, James Lemuel Ashmore and wife Inita of Baghdad Community of Louisiana, Julius Wayne Ashmore and wife Carolyn of Bentley, LA, Charles David Ashmore, Sr., and wife Vickie of Pineville, LA and Jerry Russell Ashmore, Sr. and wife Sue of Schriever, La; two daughters, Elaine A. Ryan of Libuse, LA and Billie Faye A. Von Dran of Greer, SC; thirty-six grandchildren; eighty-four great grandchildren; forty-one great great grandchildren, and one brother, Ed Thompson of Glenmora, LA

Pallbearers will be Larry Smith, Timothy E. Ashmore, Michael Ryan, Harold E. Von Dran, Jr., Spencer Shane Ashmore, Henry Lee Smith, Jr. Clyde Calvin Bookout III, and Jerry Russell Ashmore, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Jackie Smith, Wendell Smith, Kenneth Ashmore, Michael L. Ashmore, Marlon Ashmore, Faron Ashmore, Harvey Smith, Doyle Gene Ryan, Jr., Kevin Ryan, Charles David Ashmore, Jr., Charles Neil Ashmore, Spencer Dwayne Bookout and James Wade Bookout.


Visitation will be Monday, March 26, 2007, at Freedom Baptist Church from 4:00 p.m. until service time.
