Mrs. Gaither was born April 29, 1928, in Sangersville, and was the daughter of the late Rev. Charles A. and Rebecca Frances Miller Click.
She lived in the Harrisonburg area her entire life. She graduated from North River High School in Mount Solon and attended Bridgewater College. She was office services supervisor for Rockingham-Harrisonburg Health Department for 37 years before retiring in December 1987.
Mrs. Gaither was a member and served as organist for Sangersville Church of the Brethren before joining Asbury United Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing, music, playing bridge, and was an antique collector.
On April 18, 1959, she married James M. Gaither, who preceded her in death June 25, 1993.
She is survived by two brothers, Maurice Click of Olympia, Wash., and Victor Click of Harrisonburg; and many nieces and nephews.
The Rev. Betsy Caudill will conduct the funeral 2 p.m. Thursday at the Lindsey Funeral Home in Harrisonburg. Burial will follow at the Dayton Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
