She was preceded in death by her husband Lewis M. Agee of 59 years ; Parents of Minnie are George Tompkins Guilliams and Melvina Webb ; sister Pearl Martin; eight brothers Posey, Holmer, Erbie, Hosie, Amos, Bennie, Herbert, and George; son-in-law Despain "Dee" Walters; grandson Dempsey Young; sister-in-law Jewel Janney and brother-in-law William Agee.
She is survived by three daughters Betty Walters, Charlotte Davis and Shirley Dillon, all of Callaway; two sons Wilton (Faye) Agee of Callaway, and Richard (Ann) Agee of Glade Hill; seven granddaughters Lynette Young of Boones Mill, Michelle Gibson of Callaway, Tonya (Tim) Semones of Maryland, Kim (Sam) Sifers of Tennessee, Tammie (Dale) Peters, Dana (Rick) Thompson of Rocky Mount, and Gina (John) Haskins of Roanoke; six grandsons Michael Agee, Steven (Sherry) Agee, Tony (Rhonda) Davis of Callaway, Russ Agee of Roanoke, Scott (Meranda) Agee of Portsmouth, Derek (Sherry) Agee of Vinton; fourteen great-grandchildren; two step grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; special friend and neighbor Becky Guilliams; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Mama was a very caring person, always helping and giving to others, never thinking of herself. She was a great wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to all. She loved going to church, shopping, traveling, visiting and having people visit. She is now resting in a better place. We all loved her and will miss her greatly.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Callaway Volunteer Fire & Rescue, P.O. Box 44 Callaway, VA 24067. Funeral services will be conducted from Lynch Conner-Bowman Funeral Chapel 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 26, 2010 with Rev. Rick Poland officiating.
Interment will follow in Pigg River Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Her family will receive friends Monday, January 25, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. at Lynch Conner-Bowman Funeral Home, 140 Floyd Ave, Rocky Mount.
