PFC, Theodore Sartori US MARINE CORPS WORLD WAR II was killed in action on March 13, 1945 during the battle for Iwo Jima and buried on the island. He was returned to his home of
St. Louis, MO in December 1948. He was buried with full military honors on December 31, 1948 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Among those in attendance were his mother Emma and father Frank Sartori, his brother Frank Theodore Sartori, Jr , his sister Virginia Egan, his cousin MSGT John T. Westbrook, Jr. and many other friends and family.

The National Archives and Records Administration records list his Next of Kin's Home of Record as St. Louis, Missouri...Killed In Action...Re-interred on 12/31/1948.
