Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 24, 2010, at Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Chubby Winters will officiate the service. Burial will be in the Drew Cemetery.
Mrs. Turner was born on October 27, 1913, to Marion Alphonso "Fon" and Minnie (Chancellor) Fly in Yalobusha County. She married Ernest C. Turner on January 23, 1937, in Webb. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Drew. One of her passions in life was quilt-making. Her family says she was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother who will be missed by all who knew her.
Mrs. Turner was preceded in death by her husband Ernest C. Turner, daughter Virginia Nichols and two sons, C.L. Turner and Carl Turner.
She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Elizabeth and husband John Ostermiller of Salt Lake City and Sharon Marie T. and husband Leon Taylor of Brandon; four sons, Curtis Dale and wife Elaine Turner of Montgomery, Ala., Clovis Gerald and wife Bonnie Turner of Greenville, Charles Edward and wife Gail Turner of Brandon, Clinton Wallace Turner of Terry; and a sister, Della Rose Stebens of Quinton, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Fly, Larry Calder, Jimmy Dale Fly, Steve Timmes, Delbert Timmes and Benny Fly. Honorary pallbearers are Marion Whatley, Ewell (Bubba) Powell and Doug Proctor.
Cleveland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
