ALASKA - Agnes Elizabeth (Hoirup) Anderson joined her husband, parents, older brother and Jesus on Jan. 15, 2010. She was born on March 3, 1934, in Wishek, N.D., the daughter of Karl and Hazel Hoirup.
At age 12 her family moved to Washington state. She graduated from Naches High School in 1952 and married her childhood sweetheart, Chas. Dale (Andy) Anderson.
The couple owned and operated Andy's Salmon Charters and Fuel Marina in Ilwaco from 1965 to 1977. They then built, owned and operated Andy's Tackle Box on the upper Cowlitz River until retiring in 1991.
She was recognized as an expert in the fishing industry, an amazing businesswoman and often a force to be reckoned with. She had a generous, kind heart and a fun sense of humor.
Survivors include her brother, Jerry Hoirup of Bismarck, N.D.; sister-of-heart, Dale Pierce of Lacey; her three children, Judy McNeal of Shelton, David Anderson of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho and Trina Anderson-Heagy of Ketchikan, Alaska; 10 grandchildren, Sean McNeal, Daniel Anderson, John Anderson, Jason, Nick, Kristina, Shaun, Joseph, Torrie and Sam Murrell as well as 11 great- grandchildren. Her parents, a brother Lawrence, and her husband Dale preceded her in death.
A graveside service will be held at the Ilwaco Cemetery on Saturday, Jan. 23 at 11:30 a.m.; followed by a luncheon hosted by the Pacific Bible Church.
