Anna (aka Ann or Annie) was the daughter of Peter Butler (b. NY) and Charlotte Hinman Butler (b. CT). Peter came to OH in 1837. The journey with a team of two horses took four weeks. Charlotte died of consumption Apr. 29, 1846, age 50, in Tallmadge, Portage County, OH.

Anna was not quite 15 when she married Henry Bruner on Aug. 28, 1851 in Summit County. She was the mother of eight children born between 1854 and 1880.
