Harold Davison Sr.

Harold R. Davison Sr., 88, 502 McConnell, died at 9:50 p.m. Sunday, June 1, 1997, at his home after a long illness.

Harold was born Oct. 1, 1908, at Reeds Springs, Mo., and was a lifetime resident of Joplin and Carthage.

He retired from Vicker's, Inc., on Oct. 1, 1973, after 21 years of service.

He was a Baptist and a former member of the American Bowling Congress.

During World War II he served with the U.S. Army Air Corps in the European Theater of Operations.

He married Alma F. Young on March 7, 1942 at Joplin. She survives.

Additional survivors include a son, Harold R. "Dee" Davison Jr. and wife Sandi, Kansas City, Mo.; two grandchildren and spouses, Chris and Mary Davison, Kansas City, MO.; Casey and Doug Ward; and five great-grandchildren, Patrick Davison, Alex George, Emilee Davison, Andrew George and Braydon Ward all of Kansas City, MO.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Parker Mortuary, with the Rev. Charlie Burnett officiating.

Burial will be in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Roy Dalton, Bill Todhunter, Walter Stehm, Nick Nichols, Noel Drake and Leonard Brewer.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the mortuary.

Contributions may be made to St. John's Hospice.
