Dave Marple Obituary

Funeral services for Dave Marple, 78 years of age, were held Sunday, December 6 at 2 p.m. from the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home with Dr. J. Chester Badgett in charge of the services, assisted by Rev. Felix Sanders.
Burial was in Brookside Cemetery. The pallbearers were Elmer Davidson, Jim Lou McCubbin, E. Poe Young, Jim Eggers, Lynn Hunt and Judge Ira Wise. Marple, son of the late Dave Marple and Mrs. Fronie Marple, was born April 3, 1875 in Casey County, Ky.
He died Friday, December 4 at 11:30 p.m. at the Rosary Hospital. He had been in ill health for the past several months. He professed faith in Christ several months ago.
He united in marriage to Miss Nancy Jane Lyons some 61 years ago, she preceded him in death on May 15, 1946. To this union four sons and two daughters were born: Fred, George, Linus and Charles Marple, all of Campbellsville; Mrs. Myrtle Benningfield of Anderson, Ind..; and Mrs. Easten Sanders of Louisville. Besides his children, he is survived by one sister, Mrs. Linnie Campbell of Liberty, Ky.; 21 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

Rosary Hospital
David Marple died at Rosary Hospital in Campbellsville, Kentucky. Once a Catholic Hospital, the building still stands as a part of Campbellsville University. The former hospital, on University Drive, is now the music and art building for the school.
