Victoria "Dolly" Clifford, age 90, beloved wife of the late John J. Clifford Sr. of Ansonia, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Sunday, January 17, 2010 surrounded by the comfort of her family at the Griffin Hospital in Derby.Mrs. Clifford was born in Derby on February 23, 1919 daughter of the late Paul and Gelsomina DeGregoria Gianpoalo. A resident of Ansonia since she married, Dolly was a communicant of the Church of the Assumption in Ansonia and was a long time and well known kitchen aide volunteer at the Ansonia Senior Center. She is survived by a loving son, John J. Clifford Jr. of Ansonia; three loving daughters, Patricia DiDente and her husband, Richard of Ansonia, Jackie DeMarco and her husband, Thomas of Derby and Josephine Clifford of Derby; a brother, Samuel Gianpoalo of Ansonia; two sisters, Loretta Clifford of Ansonia and Ann Muli of Meriden; 11 grandchildren, Natalie DiDente and Richard DiDente of Ansonia, Thomas A. DeMarco of Shelton, Todd DeMarco of Derby, Scott DeMarco of Hamden, Kimberly Latka of Torrington, Deborah Ullrich of Shelton, Kelly Bobbie of Oxford, Sally Ann Petruzzello of Derby, John J. Clifford III and Mark Clifford of Ansonia; 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter-in--law, Lorena Mondazzi Clifford, and brothers, Anthony, Nicholas, and Joseph Gian-poalo. Friends and relatives are invited to attend her funeral on Friday, January 22, 2010 at 8:45 a.m. from the Spinelli-Ricciuti Funeral Home, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am at the Church of the Assumption in Ansonia. Burial will follow in New St. Mary's Cemetery in Ansonia. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday January 21, 2010 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the chapel of the Spinelli-Ricciuti Funeral Home.
