Mr. Floyd "Cob" Atkinson, age 66 of Lovelady, passed away Monday, January 11, 2010 in the Houston County Nursing Home. Mr. Atkinson was born August 8, 1943 in Houston County, Texas and was a lifetime resident of Lovelady. Mr. Atkinson had worked for Bench Mark in maintenance. He was a member of the Wooster Baptist Church in Baytown and was a former member of the Weldon Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by his parents Sara and J.L. Atkinson; brothers Lloyd Atkinson, Louis D. Atkinson, Thomas Atkinson and Rolland Atkinson; and sisters Louise Reagan, Mary Frances Thomas, Johnnie Mae Burnett and Josie Lee Moore.
Funeral Services for Mr. Floyd "Cob" Atkinson were held Thursday, January 14, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. in the Weldon Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Butler officiating. Interment followed in the Creek Cemetery.
