Maggie Becker Bailey was born on December 17, 1868. In her infancy, she was brought to Pomeroy, Ohio, where she spent the remainder of her life.

Left an orphan at an early age, she made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Goeglein until her marriage to Henry S. Bailey on October 26th, 1887.

Six children were born to this union, three daughters and three sons.

One daughter Edna died in infancy.

Her husband Henry S. Bailey, with the following children, still survives her: Mrs. Ada Zeisler and Fred C. Bailey of Youngstown, Ohio; Mrs. Helen Radford and Elmer S. Bailey of Rocksprings, Ohio, and Willie R Bailey of Middleport, Ohio.

Mrs. Bailey leaves fifteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; a brother Fred C Becker of Cincinnati, Ohio, and two sisters; Mrs. Caroline Karr of Ashton, Ill., and Mrs. Anna McClain of Ark.

Mrs. Bailey was a faithful attendant at the Sunday School of the Methodist Church of Rocksprings, where she likewise attended church services.

She was an active member of the Rocksprings Grange.

Mr. and Mrs. Bailey celebrated their fifty-ninth wedding anniversary on October 26th, when their grandchildren and many friends brought their affectionate greetings.

Her home was indeed her castle, which she loved. No sacrifice was too great for her children.

She was everything the word "Mother" can signify in its finest sense, nor was an hour too late or task too burdensome for her to lend her sympathetic help to a friend in need.

To know her was to love her and thus she is sincerely mourned by a host of friends, whose lives will have been made better by the touch of her life with theirs.
