US ARMY RESERVES VIETNAM

Randy was the second child of five and the oldest boy. His sister always felt she probably picked on him too much when they were youngsters. He dairy farmed all of his life, worked very hard, took few vacations, if any. When he finally retired from the daily grind of milking twice a day, he built his first home in a beautiful wooded setting close to the Wisconsin border, big enough for holidays to accommodate all of his children and grandchildren. Being a farmer and not used to relaxing, he took a part time job with a sale barn that specialized in farm animals. He finally seemed truly happy and content those few short years after retirement. His work here on earth was done.

ORANGEVILLE - Randy J. Brauer, 64, of Orangeville died at 3:38 p.m. Monday, Jan. 11, 2010, at home, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born March 16, 1945, in Rockford, the son of Harold and Lueva (Parker) Brauer. Married the former Patricia A. Erickson on July 16, 1966, in Orfordville, Wis. Randy was a dairy farmer, retiring in 2004, and then worked at Equity Livestock in Monroe, Wis., until October 2009. He also had a partnership with his brother in a Culver's in St. Charles, Mo. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves. Randy loved being outdoors and spending time with his family and friends. Graduated from Winnebago High School, Class of 1964. Survivors include his wife, four children, four grandchildren, and 3 siblings. Predeceased by his parents; sister, Cherie; and sister-in-law, Kathy Brauer. Burial in Howard Union Cemetery, Durand.
