Dr Isaac John Edmondson was the son of Andrew "River Andy" Edmondson and Susannah DeBusk. He married first on 15 September 1857 Martha Blevins, the daughter of Wells Blevins and Elizabeth Pennington. They had 10 children: Celia Jane (Selah); Martha Jane; Rachel; Alice Merilda; James W.; William Lane; John Buchanan; Rev. Thomas Franklin; Margaret Mahalia; and Kemiel "Kem". Martha Blevins Edmondson died on 28 December 1877 and Isaac married his second wife Milly Blevins, the daughter of Jesse Blevins and Emily Catherine Pennington (Jesse was the nephew of Wells and Elizabeth), on 7 December 1878 in Johnson County, Tennessee. They were the parents of 6 children: Laura Catherine; Elzina; Isaac Andrew; Millie Ann; Rhoda Van Dilly; and Lucinda. Milly Blevins Edmondson died on July 4, 1900. Isaac married a third time on 23 September 1902, Susan Jean Wright, the daughter of Dr. Andrew Kincannon Wright and Margaret Ann McGee. They did not have any children. Isaac died on October 13, 1917 of Apoplexy.
