Harry Leo Purdham, age 59, was found dead at 4:30 p.m., Friday, December 8, 1967, at his home in Stanley.

Last rites were conducted by Dr. M Jackson White at the Stanley Baptist Church at 3 p.m., Sunday. His eternal resting place was in Graves Chapel Cemetery.

Mr. Purdham was born on August 14, 1909, to the union of the late Jacob Gilbert and Elizabeth Gray Purdham. He was a member of the Stanley Baptist Church and had been employed as a carpenter.

Ruby I. Mayes, whom he married on November 17, 1936, is surviving, along with one son, Thomas A. Purdham, of V.P.I.; two daughters, Mrs. Janet Gander, of Luray, and Mrs. Judy Collins, of Alexandria; one brother, Claude Purdham, of Brunswick, Md.; three sisters, Mrs. Marvin Kibler, of Luray, Mrs. Florine Mills, of Alexandria, and Mrs. Elva Cook, of Falls Church. Three grandchildren survive their grandfather. One brother preceded him in death.
