He was born Oct. 12, 1917. He graduated from Postville High School and attended Iowa State University for two years. On Nov. 14, 1942, he married Marjorie Pape. They farmed north of Luana for many years. After retirement they lived in Luana.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Marjorie; a daughter, Kathryn (Don) McFarlane of Tucson, Ariz.; a son, Kenneth (Carol) of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; a son, Jim of Marion; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
One daughter, Mary Hager, preceded him in death.
Some of Wayne's favorite hobbies included fishing, crossword puzzles, playing pinochle, studying the Bible, and planting trees.
