Mr. Adams was a native of Indiana and was born near Cordin, Oct. 10, 1840. He grew to manhood in Indiana and was married there Dec. 20, 1866. The family left Indiana in 1873 and came to Macon county, where he has since resided.
There were born to Mr. & Mrs. Adams eight children, five of whom are living. One son was drowned at his summer home in Missouri about two months ago. The children living are Mr. William T. Hicks of Tell City, Ind., Mrs. E.E. Cochrane of Liberty, Mo., Mrs. Elmer Megrue of Maroa, James E. Adams of St. Louis, Mo. and D.F. Adams of Springfield, Mo.
Mr. Adams was a veteran of the Civil war, volunteering in Aug. 1862 and serving with Company E, 81 first regiment of Indiana. Mrs. Adams died Jan. 10, 1892, since which time he has made his home in Maroa with his daughter.
Burial will be in the Macon cemetery.
