Lloyd Edward Bauer, 86, a resident of Vinita passed away at his home on Tuesday, January 5, 2010.

Mr. Bauer was born on March 3, 1923 in San Francisco, California to Robert L. and Bessie (Maines) Bauer.

He lived most all of his life in the Grove area.

He joined the United States Army; he was honorably discharged as a Tech 5 on December 28, 1945.

Lloyd worked on the Bartlett Ranch for seventeen years; he loved to rope, ride his horses, hunt and fish, pretty much anything outside.

He was a member of the American Legion.

Mr. Bauer was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Bessie Bauer, his wife Louise Bauer who passed in September of 2007, a daughter Carol Atkinson and a great-grandson Derick Arneecher who passed December 23, 2009.

Survivors include his sons Jimmie R. Bauer and his wife Imogene, Jerry Lee Bauer and his wife BJ both of Grove, George Brown of Missouri, daughters Peggy Ann Frazier and her husband Orval of Jay, Ronda Hendrix and her husband Phillip of Vinita, a sister Roberta Keating of Bentonville, Arkansas, fourteen grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren and fifteen great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Friday, January 8, 2009 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Grove.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday December 9, 2009 at the First Christian Church in Grove with Pastor Eddie Wrinkle officiating.

Interment will follow in the Buzzard Cemetery under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove.

United States Army funeral honors will be performed by the Fort Sill Honors Team.

Casketbearers will be Richard Frazier, Lloyd Frazier, Tommy Bauer, Jerry Bauer, Jay Bauer, Dewayne Bauer and Heath Hendren.

Honorary Casketbearers will be Andy Cantrell, Ronnie Blevins, Darrell Dollarhide, Richard Allen, Denny Carey and Bobby Fisher.
