Helen H. Batchelor of Fostoria, formerly of Otter Lake, died Tuesday, May 27,1992 at Lapeer Regional Hospital. She was 71.Mrs. Batchelor was born June 15,1920 at Fostoria, the daughter of James W. and Kathryn (Brown) Stephen.She married Cecil Batchelor on June 7, 1936 in Indiana,but he preceded her in death on August 14, 1975. She was a homemaker and had been employed as a laborer in the auto industry. She was a foster grandparent in the Mayville and Caro Community Schools and Tuscola Intermediate School District.She had resided at Fostoria since 1969.Survivors include six children:five daughters, June(Mrs. Walter) Mitchell of Davison, Cecile (Mrs. Orvil)Wright of Mio, Susan Arias of California, Debra (Mrs.Richard) Ross of Davison,and Kay (Mrs. Robin) Begley of Fostoria; a son, Elmer of Otter Lake; 22 grandchildren;28 great grandchildren;and a brother and sister-in-law, James and Doris Stephen of Mio.Funeral services were held Fri., May 29 at the Tiffin
Funeral Home, Mayville, with the Rev. Tim Booth of Fostoria Baptist Church officiating. Cremation took place at the Northern Michigan Crematory, Bay City.
Arrangements were made by the Tiffin Funeral Home,Inc., Mayville.
