Jewel A. Ryon, 85, a retired secretary for a doctor's office, died Wednesday, May 13, 1998, at a North Richland Hills hospital.

Funeral: 11 a.m. Friday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home. Burial: Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Jewel A. Ryon was born Sept. 25, 1912, in Blum. She was a member of Birdville Baptist Church. She worked for Dr. William Hendrix for 42 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Garnett H. Ryon Sr., and a son, Wayne Ryon.

Survivors: Sons, Garnett H. Ryon Jr. and his wife of Mesquite and Rody Ryon and his wife, Beverly, of Southlake; daughter, Judy Shaw and her husband, Duaine, of Weatherford; brother, C.E. Crew of Fort Worth; sister, Marguiett Rucker of Hurst; grandchildren, Ken, Tim, Terry, Craig, Wes and Ross Ryon, Todd and Megan Shaw, Mendy Beard and Lisa Ashford; and 19 great-grandchildren.
