East County resident James B. Attebery, 76, died Wednesday, Oct. 21, at Pacific Gardens Alzheimer's Special Care Center.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, at Pacific Gardens, 17309 N.E. Glisan St. A private burial will be held.

James was born Dec. 1, 1932, in Seattle to Mel and Genevieve Attebery. He graduated from Cleveland High School in Seattle and enlisted in the Navy, serving in Korea.

In 1956, he married Yvonne Peterson in Seattle.

James worked as a salesman.

Survivors include his wife; sons, Jeff Attebery of Arkansas and Jim Attebery of Vancouver, Wash.; daughter, Cathy Hayes of Tualatin; brothers, Bruce Attebery of Bellevue, Wash., and David Finnie of Gig Harbor, Wash.; sister, Laurie Kincaid of Edmonds, Wash.; and four grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 1650 N.W. Naito Parkway, Suite 190, Portland, 97209.

Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
