Funeral services for Howard (Chief) Klutts, 40, of Gatesville were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Scott's Funeral Home chapel. Minister Ron Briley conducted the rites, and burial was in Restland Cemetery.
Mr. Klutts, a truck driver employed by Wilson Art in Temple, was killed Oct. 18 in the collision of three trucks on the Leon River bridge on Hwy. 36 near Jonesboro.
Mr. Klutts, who was born April 25, 1938, in Palestine, was reared in Knox County and attended the Knox City schools.
He married Rose Roberts on March 26, 1958. They moved to Gatesville 20 years ago.
Mr. Klutts drove a truck for Gatesville Commission Co. before going to work for the Temple firm.
He was a Seventh Day Adventist.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Howard Gene Klutts and Ronald Greene, both of Gatesville; five daughters, Mrs. Rose Mary DeChaume of Crawford and Mrs. Delores Land, Mrs. Gwandola Scalco, Mrs. Wanda Vaga and Miss Jo Layonne Klutts, all of Gatesville; his father, Joe Klutts of Tow; one brother, James B. Klutts of Sherman; and three grandchildren.
Pallbearers for Mr. Klutts' funeral were Butch Ming, Jon Miller, Jamie Campbell, Tony Williams, Benny White, J. D. Anderson, Joe Washburn and Freddie Washburn.
