PEORIA -- Jack D. Adams, 75, of 204 W. Northland died at 5:24 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, 1998, at his residence.

Born Feb. 17, 1923, in Canton to Delbert and Ona Williams Adams, he married Elizabeth "Bette" Thill on March 10, 1978, in Spring Bay. She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Mary Grube of Peoria; two sons, J. Michael of Philadelphia and Drew of Peoria; two stepsons, James Maloney and Patrick Maloney, both of Peoria; five stepdaughters, Mrs. James (Kathy) Johnston of Peoria, Mrs. Jerry (Becky) Thompson of East Peoria, Mrs. Sal (Mary) Gazioglu of Plano, Texas, Mrs.

Michael (Susie) Papenhause of Peoria and Mrs. Stephen (Colleen) Hutcherson of Carrollton, Texas; 19 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one stepbrother, Paul Hubbs of East Peoria.

He was preceded in death by two stepbrothers.

He was a general contractor and co-owner of Can-Du Construction Co. in Peoria.

A World War II Marine Corps veteran, he served in the Pacific Theater.

He was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church, where services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. James Pallardy will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Wright & Salmon Mortuary, with recitation of the rosary at 7:30 p.m. Visitation also will be one hour before services at the church. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
