Oleta Stacy Curlee, 94, of Orange died, Friday, December 25, 2009 in Houston.

A graveside service will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 28, 2009, at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery in West Orange. Officiating will be Chaplin Kevin Trinkle. Visitation will be 1:30 p.m., at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery before the service on Monday.

Oleta was born on November 27, 1915 in Lazare, Texas in Hardeman County. She was the daughter of George Wade and Henrietta (Lane) Curlee. She graduated from Mary Hardin Baylor with a teaching degree. Upon graduation, she taught at Bowie and Anahuac for 30 years.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Hubert Curlee and wife, Joyce.
Those left to cherish her memory are her nieces, Henrietta Gentry and husband, Dean, and Phyllis Cowgill and husband, Patrick Stallings; great-nieces, Deana Joseph and husband, Lijo, Anna Bandy and husband, Scott, Carrie Osman and husband, Alfred Marin, and Laurie Noteboom and husband, Steven; 3 great-great nephews; and 4 great-great nieces.
