From a note torn from a diary that reads, Wednesday, 10 - "Died this morning at 12-35 our Dear Sarah Jane after suffering 25 hours with croup. Never murmured but was sensible & cheerfull to the last moment. Age 6 years 2 months & 2 weeks" 1858.

Sarah Jane must have been relocated, as she was buried in the family plot on April 24,1873.
