Edna Frances Yoder was born to Frederick and Sarah (Propp) Ehrlich March 9, 1906, in Marion, Kansas. She passed away on December 21, 2009, at the age of 103.
She attended Marion Schools and later graduated at KSAC in Manhattan, KS. She taught for 27 years in Kansas and Oklahoma.
In 1933 she married Homer Yoder. They had two children, Mary Ethel and Lawrence Dean. Homer taught music in Belpre and Howard, Kansas, until 1943. The family moved to Shattuck, Oklahoma, where Homer and Edna lived for 29 years, retiring in Washington in 1972.
Homer passed away in 1983 followed by her daughter, Mary Ethel, her son, Larry, and great granddaughter, Lindsey
Edna is survived by her grandchildren, Michael, Richard and Lisa Haddock; great grandchildren, Jamie and Travis Haddock and son-in-law, Barry and his wife Lois Haddock, and daughter-in-law Alycen.
She loved teaching children. Edna enjoyed helping in the many activities of the Ferndale Senior Center and especially the United Church of Ferndale. She loved flowers and all things in nature given to us by a loving God.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 29, at 2:00 pm at the United Church of Ferndale. Burial will follow at Greenacres Memorial Park. Officiating the services will be Rev. Bobbi Virta.
