Mr. Charles Millard Adkins, 81, of Taneytown, died Sunday, April 29, at Carroll County General Hospital, Westminster. He was the husband of Elsie G. Adkins, his wife of 60 years. Born May 9,1919. in Middletown, he was a son of the late Roy Carlton and Naomi G. Sines Adkins. He farmed all his life, and was fond of Oliver tractors. He was a member of Keymar Evangelical Christian Church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Ronald Gene Adkins of Hanover. Pa.; two daughters, Carolyn Diane Griffith of Hagerstown, and Esther Elaine Roop of Hanover, three brothers, Russell R Adkins, Mehrl C. Adkins and Richard E. Adkins, all of Taneytown; one sister, Betty Topper of Hanover, four grandchildren; and two great-grandsons. The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 2, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Stoles Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St. Taneytown. Funeral services will be held at 10 am. Thursday, May 3, at Keymar Evangelical Christian Church, 1011 Francis Scott Key Highway, Keymar. His pastor, the Rev. James Hosey, will officiate.
Interment will be in Keysville Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund of Keymar Evangelical Christian Church, 1011 Francis Scott Key Highway, Keymar, Md. 21757
