Funeral services for Gordon Steven Boyer, 81 will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the Montrose Funeral Home. Elder Clarence Wallis of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints will officiate. Burial will be in Olathe Cemetery.
A retired farmer, Mr. Boyer had been a resident of the Delta and Montrose areas since 1898. He died about 4:10 p.m. Tuesday after suffering a heart attack while walking downtown. He was a member of the Reorganized LDS Church.
He was born in Independence, Va. He married Elsie Pearl Park in Delta on June 21, 1902.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, Emmett Boyer of Uravan and Dale Boyer of Montrose; three daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Dessie) Baranowski of Yuma, Ariz., Mrs. Glen (Doris) Doudy of Eckert, and Mrs. Robert (Blanche) Simpson of Montrose; two sisters, Mrs. Bess Cox of Independence, Va., and Mrs. Maude Chilson of El Centro Calif.; 16 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
