Mary Emma Aguirre
Mary Aguirre, a 20 year resident of Petaluma, passed away at her home on December 2, 2009. Wife of the late Lucian "Lou" Aguirre. Cherished mother of Mike Kerns and his wife Carol of Petaluma and Sheila Stauder of Benicia. Loving grandmother of Christopher Stauder and his wife Ginette of San Diego, Katie Kerns of Santa Rosa, and Matt Kerns of Petaluma. Adored great-grandmother of Cameron and Marley Stauder of San Diego. Dear sister of John Marshall of Altadena, CA and the late Donald Marshall. Survived by her stepchildren Cecelia Hart, Gary Aguirre, John Aguirre, Patrick Aguirre and Rosalie Zimmerer and their families. Mary worked for 30 years in the medical field, 20 of which were at Kaiser Permanente-Oakland. Over the past six years, she enjoyed volunteering at Kaiser-Petaluma. Because of Mary's love for children, she was a day care provider for many years in the Murphys, Napa and Petaluma areas. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and a devoted parishioner of St. James Catholic Church. She loved music, dancing, helping people, and doing crossword puzzles. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, 125 Sonoma Mountain Parkway, Petaluma. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions be made to Petaluma Ecumenical Properties (PEP Housing), 951 Petaluma Blvd. So., Petaluma, CA 94952-5136 in Mary's memory.
